Investment A capesize container ship with a dead weight of 180.000, MS Sunrise/POS Winner was delivered by the Korean Sungdong shipyard in 2011. One of the world's largest shippers, STX Pan Ocean Co. Ltd., then took delivery of the MS Sunrise/POS Winner under the terms of a long-term charter. Nine separate freight bays can carry up to 196,000 cubic metres of goods.

Philosophy Doric has provided an attractive alternative investment (MS Sunrise/POS Winner) for the two ship funds MS Java and MS Borneo. The distributions from this investment are expected to exceed the distributions originally projected, despite the shorter term of the fund.

The MS Sunrise/POS Winner represents an investment in a container ship with a long-term charter, purchased under attractive terms. Near full amortisation during the initial charter and the reasonable purchase price mean that investors can expect attractive returns when a follow-on charter is agreed or the MS Sunrise/POS Winner remarketed.
