SCOPE AWARDS 2007

Jury praises Doric’s ‘sure hand in structuring investment in ships’

Doric Asset Finance is delighted to receive a Scope Award 2007 in the category 'Closed-end Ship Funds – Other Ship Types’, as well as having been nominated for 'Innovation'. It was Doric's concept for the long-term ship fund MS Borneo which convinced the jury. The fund bypasses the traditional markets by offering the opportunity to invest in a Super-Handymax bulker with a charter of fifteen years – highly unusual in this generally volatile market. In particular, the jury recommended the comprehensive risk mitigation incorporated in the concept and the professionalism of Doric's cooperation with external partners. A promising development is expected for both the fund and Doric's future investment strategies.

Doric Flugzeugfonds (aircraft fund) was nominated for the ‘Innovation’ category. With this fund, Doric brought aircraft assets back into the limelight, proving that aircraft can be a security- and yield-orientated investment and not just a vehicle for attractive tax treatment. The jury complimented Doric Asset Finance on bringing aircraft funds back to the attention of a broad range of investors.
