London, Heathrow Airport – Doric Asset Finance welcomed the first Airbus A380 flight to London, which touched down on the southern runway of London’s Heathrow Airport yesterday afternoon. The Singapore Airlines operated aircraft thereby inaugurated a daily service between Singapore and London.

Doric has concluded leasing transactions with Singapore Airlines for the first three A380s now in service. A further two A380s are due to enter service in May and June. All five aircraft are on long term lease to the Singapore carrier, with an extension option after ten years. Like other aircraft arranged by Doric, these A380s will be financed through the German KG fund structure, making German investors the real force behind the purchases.

At the welcoming ceremony at Heathrow Doric’s managing director Mark Lapidus commented: ‘The A380 has made a greener and quieter way of flying possible for European travellers. The aircraft replaces three smaller aircraft in the London skies, which is a major step forward in terms of reducing air traffic. We are proud to invest in the future of air travel.’
